Winter Is Late. What Is Holding It Back?

Winter is late in Pittsburgh

Winter is arriving late in Pittsburgh. Weather reports early in November suggest that, due to the Albedo effect, this year's winter will be drier than other years in Pittsburgh. The positive side of it is, we have a longer Fall/Autumn.

The photo in this post was taken on Ellsworth Avenue, between College Street and Spahr Street.

Updates about me: Over the last 2 months I have moved from Singapore to Pittsburgh in the United States. Thus, at least for the next few months, please stay tuned to catch up on my adventures in North America!

Get Me Home Please...!

MRT service disruption

I managed to capture this sign strapped to the bus stop near City Hall MRT station early this morning. Evidence of the what was left from last night commuters distress.

Thousands were left stranded last night at MRT stations when Singapore's two main MRT (subway) lines simultaneously came to a complete halt with little options to get home. A sight more and more frequent these days in Singapore.

Blessed with a little sixth sense, I strangely took a bus home yesterday, rather than my normal train ride home. I wonder why. However, my dad was not so lucky and was trapped in the mess for almost 3 hours.

It's Sizzling Here!

Manchester Ship Canal during a sunset

The heat wave struck Britain and lasted for 3 weeks with reported highs of 33 degrees centigrade in London. Manchester was not spared, and towards the last few days of it, I was looking forward to the storm forecasted. The photo above is a sunset shot of Manchester Ship Canal with BBC and Lowry Outlet Mall in the silhouette to the right.
